A warm welcome to the web site of our village school
We are a small, rural school in Mayfield – just 5 minutes drive from the centre of Ashbourne. A Church of England school, we nurture our children in a warm, inviting setting.
Our educational standards are very high. Ofsted rates our school as good and we have an excellent head teacher – Mrs Jackie Naylor – who seeks continual improvement year-on-year.
Being a village school gives our children many benefits. We have small class sizes with a very high teacher-to-pupil ratio. We have a large playground and playing field on which the children enjoy their break times and sports lessons. A family atmosphere means every child feels important.
We would like to invite you to visit our school and nursery to see for yourself why we are so proud of it and our children. Please contact us to arrange a time to suit you. You can see the children in their classes on a normal school day and experience our unique environment. Ring the office on 01335 342613 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Henry Prince Church of England Voluntary Controlled First School & Nursery aims to support every child in our care so that they achieve their academic potential and become happy confident and caring children with positive attitudes to all areas of learning and development. The school has Christian beliefs at its heart and, as well as encouraging mutual respect amongst children, looks outward to its links with both the church and the wider community.
What Ofsted says about The Henry Prince School
Pupils talked enthusiastically about residential trips, playing a musical instrument, taking part in sports activities and learning French.
The needs of pupils across the school are well catered for in a warm and nurturing environment. This is particularly true for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including social, emotional and mental health needs.
Pupils are happy and keen to learn.
